Eating meat leads to wrong path: Mohan Bhagwat makes controversial statement
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat has made a controversial statement about non-vegetarians. Consuming Tamasi food leads to wrong path. He said that meat consumption leads to violent acts.
A news agency reported that Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday, "Vegetarians should try to follow some discipline while eating meat so that their mind is focused." Bhagwat was speaking at an event in Nagpur.
The RSS chief said people should avoid eating 'tamasika food', which usually consists of non-vegetarian dishes."It is said that if you eat wrong food, you will go down the wrong path. So, don't eat this food," Bhagwat said.
"They eat meat in our country just like they eat meat in Western countries. Compared to both, people who eat meat in India follow at least some rules," opined Bhagwat.
"People who eat meat in India don't eat during the month of Shravan. They don't eat on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. They themselves control their diet," said Bhagwat. The whole country is currently celebrating the festival of Navratri, and most of the people do not eat meat on this occasion. Abstaining from eating meat on the occasion of Dussehra has been a tradition since ancient times
